Jungle Rot: Order Shall Prevail

Jungle Rot: Order Shall Prevail
For the best part of two decades, Jungle Rot have been breathing life into the Oldschool Death-Metal beast. Although firmly rooted in the underground, Jungle Rot have been steadily gaining notoriety throughout their career, reaching scene wide recognition with previous releases; Kill On Command, and the blistering 2013 release, Terror Regime. With their latest release, Order Shall Prevail, Jungle Rot look set to reach critical level, with their most flawless and furious album to date.
Continuing along the Vader approved path of Thrash infused Death-Metal, Order Shall Prevail is a turbo-charged, full throttle Metal assault, that perfectly accompanies their previous releases, but with a fresh and more invigorating edge. The production is clean, yet raw enough to appease the true Oldschool masses.
The melodic riffing is in a far greater supply than even on Terror Regime, with chugging breakdowns appearing on most tracks, making Order Shall Prevail a genuine ten round headbang workout. A guest appearance on "Fight Where You Stand", from Soulfly and all round Metal legend, Max Cavalera, makes for an album highlight that is sure to further the Jungle Rot name, while crushing brains and inducing moshpits in the process. Despite being a largely straightforward Death-metal release, there is no short supply of twists and standouts that makes Order Shall Prevail even more enjoyable, for example, "Trench Tactics", leads with galloping Heavy-metal riffs, before descending into a steamrolling, neck shattering breakdown.
The groovy style of "Paralyzed Prey"  and title track, "Order Shall Prevail", showcases Jungle Rot's own unique sound and approach at its very best, remaining a perfect example of precise Death-Metal, while being stripped back and straight forward enough to actually be enjoyed. "I Cast The First Stone" is definitely one of the Thrashiest tracks of the album, again adding to the albums unique diversity, but also helping to ensure there isn't a single slow or dull moment to Order Shall Prevail.
Overall, Order Shall Prevail is a perfect album, fast, heavy and highly enjoyable. The influx  in recent years of ultra brutal, technical and Slam Death-Metal bands, has rather than made bands like Jungle Rot seem weaker, has actually made them more important and enjoyable than ever, by showing the Death-metal world that you don't have to be completely over the top, to be the best.

It is fair to say that 2013 holds some of the best Metal releases of all time, but within it also resides some of the most spectacular misfires ever to insult mortal eardrums. Focusing on the positive aspects of the years releases, here is a round up of 10 albums that 2013 shall truly be remembered for. Undoubtedly, this list of albums will (and should) be fairly predictable, reminding you of the incredible strides extreme music has made within the last year. However, it should also highlight just how much can change within a 365 day stretch, and just how much Metal music can terraform within that time. So lets hope 2014 lives up to the achievements of 2013. Bring on the...

BEAST IN BLACK: DARK CONNECTION

BEAST IN BLACK:  DARK CONNECTION     Bombastic, heavy, wild and fun, Dark Connection is everything that any obliging listener can expect to hear from Finnish whippersnappers Beast In Black.      Saturated with synths, electronics and plenty of twiddling guitars, the album has a very European (or more specifically Scandinavian) Pop vibe, more prevalent here than on Beast In Black's previous efforts. That said, there is no shortage of cracking riffs, slamming drums and impressive vocals.     Kicking off in dramatic fashion, " Blade Runner " offers up an seizure inducing blur of riffs and crazed keys. Sounding like a disco injected Judas Priest, " Bella Donna " is bizzare yet undeniably infectious and catchy. With a great sing-along chorus, crunchy Metallic riffs and an abundance of synths and keys, " Highway To Mars " is another groovy staple. Offering a little more heaviness, " Hardcore " pounds and thunders along like a softer Sab...
