   First things first. Device and Disturbed are two different bands and should be treated as such. Admittedly, they do share the same vocalist, of whom carries one of the most distinctive wails of any mortal man. So when approaching this magnificent creation, remember that one ingredient may be the same, but the product is completely different.  
   Device have clearly stumbled onto something with this self titled debut. Clearly they have discovered the secret to not just using huge, chugging, industrial riffs and battering drumming, but to also incorporate electronic effects and not be written off immediately by the more traditional Metal-Heads. The electronics blend in and intertwine with the other instrumental components immaculately. Another rather titanic element of Device is the legion of special guest appearances. Device boasts contributions from renowned vocalists including; M. Shadows, Serj Tankian, Lzzy Hale and Glenn Hughes. Other contributions are made by Tom Morello and the legendary Geezer Butler. 
   So how about the individual songs? Well the standard album consists of 10 spectacular awe-inspiring  tracks. Not one of those 10 songs is even fractionally below epic. Device also includes a spectacular cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Close my Eyes Forever" in which Lzzy Hale lends her lungs to. Other songs such as opener, "You Think You Know" and lead single "Vilify", demonstrate an immensely powerful display of creativity. They have the bold, rhythmic riffs, the soaring and plummeting vocal variation, as well as a technical display of electronic input.
   Another standout track on Device has to be the Serj Tankian guested, "Out Of Line" which opens with some of the most stomping riffs and contains some of the strongest, most politically driven lyrics of the entire album. The real highlight of Device has to be "Haze". This clash of the titans contains two of the biggest names in modern Metal and based on the results, M. Shadows and David Draiman should work together more often. 
   So whether you were hooked on Device since the first single, or perhaps a fan of David Draiman's other work, or even if your just interested in some of the guest contributions, its inconceivable to think that there isn't something on this album for everybody.
