Tankard Interview: No Nonsense Metal Interviews

NNMR: No Nonsense Metal Interviews
TANKARD
Tankard have been Thrashing and promoting excessive alcohol consumption for the last three decades, and for those reasons they are heralded as the King's of Alcoholic Metal. Fifteen albums into their career, Tankard show no signs of slowing down. Despite having such an impressive career, these Thrash-Metal icons don't seem remotely phased by success.
No Nonsense Metal got in touch with Tankard's own Olaf Zissel, to get the latest word from the German Teutonic Thrash Legends camp, and see what they have going for the future.

NNM: Hey Olaf, Its been 30 years and 15 studio albums since Tankard began. Why do you think it is     that Tankard has had such a great career?

Olaf: "I don't know if you can call it great..... I prefer to say "long", and I think there is nothing special to it. Just kept on going in times when nobody is listening to our music."

NNM: Tankard have released an impressive 15 studio albums. Do you have a personal favorite?

Olaf: "My favorite is the first one with me in the boat, and its simply called The Tankard"

NNM: Will fans be hearing any new Tankard material in the near future?

Olaf: "If they like, We'll do some new stuff next year. Don't ask me about the release date, I'm just the   drummer!"

NNM: How do you guys approach making new Tankard material?

Olaf: "We usually record our song ideas on CD at home and then give the files to Andi, our guitar player. He sorts the crap from the nonsense and then tries to make a song out of it."

NNM: How do you feel about Tankard being labelled as one of "The German Teutonic Big 4 Of  Thrash-Metal"?

Olaf: "Its a good feeling to be labelled as that, but we don't feel like we are big. We are just veterans at doing this."

NNM: Do you think the Teutonic 4 will ever unite for a world conquering tour?

Olaf: "I don't think there will be a tour like that. We usually do about thirty shows a year, and most of them are on the week-end. Maybe we'll meet those other bands at some festivals in Europe, but thats it."

NNM: Has Tankard got any tour plans before the end of 2013?

Olaf: "Tour-dates can always be seen on the Tankard website. As I know, there are some festivals in Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Italy and Germany on that list."

NNM: Tankard are known for their love of beer, is releasing your own brand of beer something   Tankard would ever do?

Olaf: "There is a German saying about this but I don't know how to translate it, Den Bock Zum Gartner Machen!" (To put the fox in charge of the hens)

NNM: Any last things you want to say to your fans?

Olaf: "Hi all, hope you will all have a great summertime! Cheers!"

BEAST IN BLACK: DARK CONNECTION

BEAST IN BLACK:  DARK CONNECTION     Bombastic, heavy, wild and fun, Dark Connection is everything that any obliging listener can expect to hear from Finnish whippersnappers Beast In Black.      Saturated with synths, electronics and plenty of twiddling guitars, the album has a very European (or more specifically Scandinavian) Pop vibe, more prevalent here than on Beast In Black's previous efforts. That said, there is no shortage of cracking riffs, slamming drums and impressive vocals.     Kicking off in dramatic fashion, " Blade Runner " offers up an seizure inducing blur of riffs and crazed keys. Sounding like a disco injected Judas Priest, " Bella Donna " is bizzare yet undeniably infectious and catchy. With a great sing-along chorus, crunchy Metallic riffs and an abundance of synths and keys, " Highway To Mars " is another groovy staple. Offering a little more heaviness, " Hardcore " pounds and thunders along like a softer Sabaton, befo
